Leonard Wood letter [manuscript], 1919 October 4.

Wood writes Will Owen Jones concerning his telegram. Thanks him for his appreciation of the work being done in Omaha which had just suffered a major race riot: "It has been a critical situation but I think we are well out of the woods now, provided the people place themselves squarely behind law and order and the city government." Mentions Robert Beecher Howell.
